Spring Break on Southern Utah Public Lands

On southern Utah's public lands, you can get your fill of blue sky, gorgeous red rock and glorious solitude practically any day of the year. But in the springtime, you have the added pleasure of seeing delicate wildflowers blooming, picking primo campsites, and solitary hikes on trails that will teem with visitors come summer. The weather is fairly temperate—daytime highs can reach the upper 60s and low 70s—but it's still close to freezing at night.

Visitors to Moab, in southeastern Utah, flock to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, as well as the surrounding lands under the management of the BLM or the Manti-La Sal National Forest.

In southwestern Utah, visitors have long enjoyed the breathtaking vistas and enchanting formations of Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. Thanks to recent protections, visitors also enjoy the complex of lands included in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, including the Red Mountain Wilderness.
