Description: NO LONGER AVAILABLE Allison Guard Station is situated amid spring-fed creeks on the northern slopes of the Snow Mountain Ranger District. Fishing and boating in nearby Delintment Lake. The cabin is equipped with an drinking water, indoor bathroom and shower, kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms. Lights, refrigerator, cookstove, heat, and hot water are all fueled with propane. Propane, basic kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, bends and some furniture are provided. The cabin sleeps 6-8 people. You will need to bring food, trash bags, personal gear, and sleeping bags.

The original ranger station, near Allison Cabin, was constructed in 1911, and the complex was expanded to 7 buildings by the CCC in the 1940`s. The cabin is nicknamed "Cook House" for the role it has played in feeding work crews in recent years. Allison still functions as a field station, primarily for fire crews. The quality of workmanship and rustic style of architecture is representative of the 1940`s CCC era.


Location: From Hines, go 1 miles west on US 20, 12 miles north on Forest Road 47, then about 35 miles north on FR 41.
