Description: 10,300 ft. elevation. 20 campsites on Butterfly Lake, one of a number of extremely lovely alpine lakes in the area. Trailhead across the road is for the Highline Trail, which crosses the High Uintas Wilderness. There is a stock loading ramp at the trailhead parking lot. Although the campground is sheltered by pines, there are fantastic views of the High Uintas from any clearing. Other activities include hiking,horse riding,fishing, and canoeing.
Location: From Kamas go 34.2 miles east on Mirror Lake Scenic Byway (UT-150). Road may stay closed into July, when the snowpack melts.
