Description: 2950-3380 foot elevation. The 957 acres of this area mostly lies along the Snake River, although it does include some land on the canyon rim. The area experiences mild, dry weather, and supports a sagebrush, rabbitbrush, and saltbush habitat. A riparian zone along the river yields cottonwoods, sedges, and bulrushes. Fishing for trout and steelhead in Niagara Springs and the Thompson/Mays Canal. Catfish and sturgeon can be caught in the river. Waterfowl and raptors live by the river, and limited populations of upland game birds live on the rim. The riparian areas support a variety of songbirds and some mule deer.
Location: Exit I-84 at Wendell (exit 157) and go 7 miles south.
