Description: Cartier Slough Wildlife Management Area is located along the west side of the Henrys Fork of the Snake River west of Rexburg. The entire 1028 acres of Cartier Slough lies within big game unit 63A. The Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation acquired the land to replace habitat loss resulting from the construction of Ririe Dam and Teton Dam. The WMA is primarily a habitat for waterfowl that also provides habitat for a diverse variety of over 200 wildlife species. It is also managed to provide public access for hunting, fishing, trapping and wildlife viewing. Trumpeter swans can be seen during spring and fall migrations. Hiking, horse riding, and mountain biking trails are provided.

Location: From Rexburg, go west on ID 33 to a county road near Beaver Dick County Park. Take the road to 3 parking areas.
