Description: 5540-foot elevation. 5 campsites in a remote area just north of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Trails from the campground head south to the Newberry Caldera, and north to a charcoal cave, an ice cave, and a wind cave, all formed by the volcanic explosions which shaped this area. Trails are open for horse riding and hiking. Shorter hikes climb to the top of nearby Lava Butte and Fuzztail Butte. Campground open to campers with horses, day users picnicking, and other campers. Hunting in season.
