Library of the American West
The PLIA Office in Los Ranchos offers an extensive collection of books on Southwest history and culture, recreation, and travel. Plan your next outdoor adventure, explore the history of your hometown, or get help with your recreation interests!
Our collection came about over the course of our over 40 year history of interpreting public lands, including publishing maps and trail guides, operating bookstores, and developing interpretive materials for public land sites. Former PLIA leaders Stephen and Lisa Maurer were responsible not only for our success in these efforts through the years, but for amassing an impressive collection of maps and books for reference.
