The Public Lands Interpretive Association (PLIA) works to inspire and educate the public about the natural and cultural heritage resources of America’s public lands. As a 501 c(3) nonprofit, we partner with the Bureau of Land Management and the USDA Forest Service in Arizona and New Mexico to support interpretive programs and enrich the visitor experience. For forty years, we have served the public through our information centers, retail stores, campground operations, educational programs, and through our website. We are based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and serve visitors throughout the Southwest at locations in Arizona and New Mexico.

Outreach Coordinator Intern

PLIA is providing an opportunity for one qualified individual to serve as an Outreach Coordinator Intern. The intern will help create and expand partnerships in the cities of Williams, Flagstaff, and Winslow, the Navajo Nation, the Hualapai Indian Reservation, and other nearby communities. The intern will also help plan stewardship events that focus on trash clean-ups and restoration projects at priority sites around the forest. These events will provide opportunities for volunteers to get involved in protecting and preserving the Kaibab National Forest. In addition, the intern will assist with virtual programs to reach visitors before they arrive on-site. Virtual programs will focus on how visitors can be better stewards through recreating responsibly and about the unique benefits and resources of the forest. Read more...
