The obverse features the west unit, dominated by the Saguaro Wilderness. This area features a network of relatively short desert trails that connect to outside city trails and other public lands. The entirety of the Tucson Mountain Park and Sweetwater Preserve are included, with trail and amenity information. 

The reverse centers on the much larger east unit, which includes a majority of the Saguaro Wilderness and connects to the Rincon Mountain Wilderness and Coronado National Forest. The Tanque Verde Ridge Trail is one of the main east-west trails, while a section of the Arizona Trail runs north-south through this area. Backpackers and day-hikers can find an entire network of trails, loops, and backcountry campsites to explore.

 A good choice for exploring the more urbanized west unit, with plenty to do and see in the form of trails, interpretive sites, and museums, or for traveling on foot in the wilder eastern unit.
