A great atlas to have for residents or travelers. Each recreation guide page gives suggestions for campgrounds/RV parks, hiking trails, beaches, ocean or river fishing sites, natural or historic attractions, and museums. Benchmark maps are maps for the true public lands lover. The California Road & Recreation Atlas now has 14 pages of all-new Landscape "Metro Maps" of the four largest urban areas of the state: Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento. The enlarged scale (1" = 2.5 miles or 1:157,000) shows even more recreation detail than before. New features of the twenty-eight page Recreation Guide now include climate graphs, eight-classes of public lands ownership, shaded relief and point-to-point mileages. All the maps feature beautifully detailed, digitally rendered landscape relief. The maps are fully compatible with GPS technology. The scale for most of the state is 1:300,000 or 1"= 5 miles.
