From Republic access the west section of the forest, travel the Sherman Pass Scenic Byway east to the Columbia River, explore the connecting forest roads with opportunities for camping and hiking, or boating and fishing at Trout Lake or Davis Lake. From Coleville travel east to Little Pend Oreille Lakes or Sullivan Lake to enjoy camping, boating, fishing, hiking, or OHV trail riding at Little Pend Oreille Lakes. From Newport enjoy scenic driving north along the Pend Oreille River to fishing sites, campgrounds, boat ramps, or to access the Batey-Bould ORV Trails System open only to motorcycles.
