The Carson District covers forest lands surrounding Lake Tahoe in California and in Nevada from northwest of Reno NV to west of Bridgeport CA. The district straddles the California/Nevada border in a strip 15 miles wide and 96 miles long from north of Reno and south to Sonora Pass on Forest Road 38. Activities include everything from motor boating on Lake Tahoe to backpacking in Carson Iceberg Wilderness. Map is great for scenic driving from Reno on a day trip, or for a camping vacation away from the city. National Forest maps include topographic information, hiking trails, service roads, OHV roads/trails, recreation sites, regulations, and contact information if you need permits or additional information before you trek into the wilderness. Map is useful for OHV use, and for NV Hunting in Units 192, 194, 196, and 201; and CA Deer Hunting Units X8 and X12. Synthetic 2017.
