From San Andreas travel south to Angels Camp, then northeast on the Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway into Stanislaus National Forest with opportunities for scenic driving, camping, hiking, and fishing. On the way visit Calaveras Big Trees State Park with camping, picnicking, and hiking. From Mi-Wuk Village travel northeast to Beardsley Lake offering camping, boating, and fishing. Southwest of Beardsley Lake is Crandall Campground with ATV trails. Explore the scattered BLM lands east of San Andreas, some areas are adjacent to the forest boundary.
